At the Canadian University of Nigeria, research will be at the core of our academic mission. Planned Research Support Services
The Canadian University of Nigeria is committed to providing comprehensive support for faculty and student researchers. The following services are being developed and will be available once the university is operational:
We will provide assistance with identifying funding opportunities, proposal development, budget preparation, and post-award management.
We are designing state-of-the-art laboratories, equipment, and specialized research facilities across campus.
We will establish programs and resources to support undergraduate and graduate student research, including funding opportunities.
We are developing comprehensive guidelines on research ethics, compliance requirements, and the ethics review process.
Anticipated Research Funding Opportunities
The Canadian University of Nigeria is developing a comprehensive research funding strategy. The following represents our planned funding programs that will be implemented once the university is operational:
Faculty Research Grants
Will support faculty research projects across all disciplines. Anticipated awards up to ₦5,000,000.
Interdisciplinary Research Initiative
Will promote collaborative research across different schools and departments. Anticipated awards up to ₦10,000,000.
Graduate Research Fellowship
Will support graduate students conducting innovative research. Anticipated awards up to ₦2,000,000.

Planned Research Ethics & Compliance Framework
The Canadian University of Nigeria is committed to upholding the highest standards of research ethics and integrity. We are currently developing comprehensive policies and procedures that will govern all research activities once the university is operational.
All research involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data will undergo ethics review before commencement. CUN is committed to ensuring that all research conducted by its faculty, staff, and students adheres to the highest ethical standards.
Anticipated Ethics Review Timeline:
- Submit application to the Research Ethics Committee
- Initial review (within 2 weeks of submission)
- Feedback and revisions (if required)
- Final decision (typically within 4-6 weeks of initial submission)

A Research Ethics Committee will be established to oversee all matters related to research ethics and integrity at CUN.
